Egypt : April 2026
Although focused entirely on Cairo and its surroundings, my second journey to Egypt was, in all likelihood, the greatest personal challenge I had ever undertaken: travelling alone. True, it is not that far away—just a four-hour flight. And then there were Hamdi, Ahmed, and Zizou waiting to welcome me, so I would never truly be alone. Since my first visit, we have maintained a precious friendship. Not to mention modern technology, which makes it easy to stay in touch with loved ones whenever needed. I also have every confidence in my ability to handle the practical aspects of the trip. But I know myself all too well: anxiety is never far away. And yet, I rose to the challenge. I returned with a lasting sense of confidence and already find myself looking forward to my next discoveries along the Nile, Insh’Allah ! -FA
Bien qu’uniquement centré sur le Caire et ses environs, mon deuxième voyage en Égypte représente, selon toute vraisemblance, mon plus gros challenge personnel à ce jour : partir en solo. Certes, ce n’est pas si loin. Environ 4h d’avion, seulement. Et puis il y a Hamdi, Ahmed et Zizou pour m’accueillir : je ne serai jamais vraiment seul car, depuis mon séjour initial, nous entretenons de précieux liens. Sans compter la technologie et les moyens de communication qui, bien entendu, permettent de facilement rester en contact avec ses proches et ce en tout temps, si nécessaire. De plus, je ne doute guère de mes compétences sur le plan logistique. Mais je ne me connais que trop bien ; l’angoisse n’est jamais loin… Et pourtant, j’ai réussi mon pari, gagnant durablement en confiance, me réjouissant d’ores et déjà de mes prochaines découvertes le long du Nil, Inch’Allah ! -FA
